Cochon 555, the roving tour of porcineamazingness, is hitting Los Angeles this Sunday with a great lineup
of local chefs who will be using various heritage breeds of pork.
Last year the Vibiana Cathedral hosted the event, with the likes of
Jonathan Gold and Kat Odell of Eater LA juding the event. There are
still tickets remaining, so I suggest that you get yours online assoon as possible.
As a last minute added bonus, we'll be
serving Scoops ice cream at the end with an all-new special flavor
that was conceived by Tai and myself, using Xocolatl chocolate. We'll
be serving Jamon Iberico Lard infused into Xocolatl chocolate with brown bread and topped with strips of bacon.
There will be five winemakers at the
event long with the pork-based deliciousness. Turley Wine, Matthiason
Wine, Scholium Project, K Vintners, and Buty Winery, along with Elk
Cove Vineyards (including the new Clay Court Pinot Noir), SALDO,
Sokol Blossor, and Simi will be pouring great wines all afternoon
long.
For those who prefer something with
more impact, there will be a bourbon bar featuring Hirsch, Angel's
Envy, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, Hudson Whiskey, Templeton Rye, and
more.
The event starts at Sunday, May 6th
at 4PM for VIP ($200) and 5PM for General Admission ($125). Pick up
tickets at www.cochon555.com,
and make sure you stay for that special Scoops ice cream flavor!
