Just had a leisurely afternoon at Scoops, lounging over cinnamon stout and raspberry lychee, which were inspired by yesterday's win at the first ever LA Beer Float Showdown. The Golden State and Scoops Ice Cream partnered for an overwhelming win against Milk and BottleRock.
Scoops and Golden State will be serving up their beer floats at this week's Plate by Plate tasting event held at the California Science Center. I'll be there representing Scoops Ice Cream, so you can catch me in an apron and maybe a scooper in hand for the festivities.
These days, the ice cream at Scoops is perfect for a lazy afternoon or a quiet sunset on HelMel, short for Heliotrope and Melrose. The block is in full-swing "gentrification", though the addition of a smoke shop and tattoo parlor probably wouldn't be considered too much of an improvement. Still, there's life all around the block into the late hours of the night. Scoops has always been one of my favorite places on these cool summer nights.

I don't think there is anything better than a scoop of ice cream on a summer day.
Well, maybe two scoops.
Raspberry lychee sounds amazing!
not sure if this is my first visit here, but wow, that ice cream photo is gorgeous
It's like having the cone right in front of me. Crazy good photography.

you should definitely submit some of your photos to www.donteatthatyet.com. it's a visual restaurant review site with a template similar to that of tastespotting
