Yes, food is invariably and inexorably related to this made-up love holiday that still serves a great purpose in jazzing up our stricken economy AS WELL AS giving us fellas the chance to impress our loved ones a little bit. Don't be bitter if you don't have one...just make the most of what you have if you don't have a date tonight. Hang out with dudes or gals and just have a good time. If you do have a date, treat him or her like a king/queen/prince/princess (depending on your age selection) and have fun tonight. I normally disdain eating out on Valentine's Day as I think it's a huge waste of money and a ticket for bad service and mediocre food. However, I did manage to land a special reservation at a place that does not to prix fixe tonight (don't even try guessing babe - you'll find out later...it rhymes with....)
Anyways, here's to the girl of my dreams, the love of my life, the dearest dear who has been my "starlight" (yes that song's stuck in my head) for the past six months (almost).

Nearby Auntie Ems with delicious fall foliage in the background. So pretty!

christine: you made it a very memorable day. I think we did (almost) everything we wanted to do. Too bad I drank too much wine and was too tired to hit up the NRB.
Herby: thank you! we brunched at Canele. BTW, their brunch is DIVINE.
Susan: albert IS super-romantic! you just have to see it :) and that's not the sweetest tribute. check out christine's latest post on the post-vday.
Herby: Really? When we were there, we saw a women with her infant child seated at the communal table enjoying a wonderful meal. They even have baby chairs! :) Still, your review for cliff's edge sounds appetizing. (btw, i think we walked out of canele with 2 drinks, 3 entrees for...$50something?)
